Fellini Film Festival Hosted by Poly Film Opened in Guangzhou

On December 17, the Fellini Film Festival in Guangzhou sponsored by China Film Archive and Poly Film Investment Co., Ltd. was officially launched at the Guangzhou Zhonghuan Store of Poly International Studios. Ms. Sun Xianghui, Director of China Film Archive and Director of China Film Art Research Center, Mr.Giorgio Daviddi , Deputy Consul General of Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou, Board Secretary of Poly Group, Executive Vice President of Poly Culture Group and Mr. Li Weiqiang, Chairman of Poly Pictures, attended the event.

At the launching ceremony, Sun Xianghui expressed his gratitude to the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Publicity Department of Guangdong Municipal Party Committee , Poly Culture Group, and Poly Film. Giorgio Daviddi said that by watching the works of Fellini, a master of culture and art --, we can further appreciate his extraordinary creativity and uniqueness, thus enhancing the cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Italy.

Li Weiqiang said that this Fellini Film Festival has an unprecedented scale and it is a great honor for Poly Pictures to join hands with the China Film Archive and the Italian Embassy in China. For the successful hosting of activities in Changsha Station, Chengdu Station and Guangzhou Station, we would like to express our gratitude to the Hunan, Sichuan, and Guangdong Provincial Party Committees and Provincial Governments, as well as the competent authorities of Changsha, Chengdu, Guangzhou Municipal Committees, and municipal governments for their careful guidance, and the strong support of Poly Development and Holdings.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, the “Federico Fellini Centennial Birthday Screening” set out from Beijing, traveled through Suzhou, Changsha, Xiamen and Chengdu to Guangzhou—the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road. The Consulate-General of the Republic of Italy in Guangzhou, the Cultural Center of the Italian Embassy in China, the Italian National Film Archive, the Bologna Film Archive and Cinecittà si Mostra have all provided strong support. This time, China and Italy are working together to promote cultural exchanges between the East and the West through the medium of film. In the future, Poly Culture, as central enterprise, will continue to shoulder the mission of “Strengthening Cultural Confidence, Telling China’s Story Well”, carry forward the traditional Chinese culture, and promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
